catalogs: important sales tools
Make
your catalogs work for you.
Catalogs are used for product sales. Because of the large number of pages, the designer must be able to keep them together logistically through the use of consistent design elements.
Unlike brochures, catalogs require all the information that a buyer
is looking for. A brochure can hit on the important items, but a catalog
needs:
- photos,
- descriptions,
- product numbering,
- price,
- quantity discount information,
- colours,
- sizes,
- shipping and,
- return policies to name just a few.
Because of this, a lot of care needs to be given in producing an
effective piece.
Often several revisions must be done by a number of people to ensure
that nothing has been missed and that all information is correct. If
this step is not done thoroughly, costly print jobs may be the result. |
